The sun is rising through the trees. The birds are chasing each other around and through the sunbeams. The air is crisp and refreshing. The Lord's creation is singing His majesty. It is 7:00 CA time about thirty minutes before breakfast, which starts our second full day of orientation. The orientation is being held at Jenness Park, which is in the Sierra Mountains. It has been a blessing so far. We have learned many different things about CA, about getting along with different personalities, and how to be "street wise". I am with a great group of 38 students from all over the states who love the Lord and have come here to serve. We are all different ages the youngest ones are just finishing 11th grade while the older ones are in the middle of their graduate degrees. But despite these differences we all have a common bond and that is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I don't know if you have ever had the opportunity to spend time with a group of people ready to have a good time and talk about the Lord, but if you have you know what I mean when I say, "it lights your fire." As I was walking through the beautiful camp yesterday, I thought that if I had to go home right now (which I'm not quite ready to do) it would have all been worth it to meet these people and worship with them.
Please pray for the next three days for orientation that we will be rejuvenated and filled so that we can pour out on the field. On Saturday one of my partners Hana and I will start at El Camino church with a block party to promote their VBS which starts Monday.
I appreciate your prayers. I am so blessed to have the Christian support I do at home. God bless!
1 John 4:16-19
And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in Him. In this way, love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment, because in this world we are like Him. There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. We love because He first loved us.
